THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly comes from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She concentrates the majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes, the distribution of marital property child custody battles child support arrangements, postnuptial and prenuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement and issues, step-parent and private party adoptions and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has been a mediator appointed by the court since the year. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for litigation or court involvement. In addition to mediation mandated by the court, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who want to stay clear of the litigation and court process.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She then pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrates her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

Ashley began her clerkship after completing her law degree. She worked for notable jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned home to Hagerstown, Maryland, to serve as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. This experience helped her to gain a deeper understanding of the local legal environment. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her primary focus in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services on cases involving child welfare. Ashley's devoted efforts played a significant role in helping children who were victims of abuse or negligence at the care of their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to tackling social injustice went beyond her legal profession when she was an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to increase awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law such as divorce, custody, child support and guardianships as well for estate planning, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxy - and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC, in 2023, with a commitment to providing an individual approach to each client's requirements.
